School Administrator - SEN School - Southwark
Responsibility for assisting in managing the school office, including but not limited to:
* Co-ordinate and supervise the work of office staff to ensure the school office is organised efficiently.
* Liaise with line manager relating to work to be undertaken by the office.
* Assist with monitoring the induction of any new member of the office staff.
* Deputise for the line manager in relation to the above duties in her/his absence.
* Organise the administration of new student admissions and assist the Headteacher in arranging parental interviews and appeals.
* Organise the administration of staff recruitment and assist the Headteacher in arranging interviews, meetings, and appeals.
* Provide administrative support in organising safety procedures, including fire drills.
* Oversee the general administration of school dinners.
Assisting in the maintenance of the various school computerised databases of pupil and staff information, including:
* Maintain the school's database of pupil attendance records, liaising with teachers and the Education Welfare Officer as appropriate.
* Provide assistance with other information databases, including the administration on pre-employment checks.
* Be responsible for keeping accurate records of absences and holiday entitlements for non-teaching staff.
To provide administrative support to the senior leaders and teachers as appropriate, including:
* Assist senior leaders and teachers in all aspects of her/his role, including but not limited to: contacting parents and pupils where necessary, liaising with staff on outcomes, letter writing, distribution of parental information, preparation for student review meetings, maintaining staff training and certification database, writing up minutes, timetables or schedules following meetings, printing, and photocopying.
* Attend meetings on issues as and when required and take notes/minutes.
* Maintain a confidential filing system.
Financial Administration:
To be responsible for accounting procedures in the school regarding:
* School journey accounts,
* School accounts and banking of dinner monies.
* Management of petty cash procedures.
* Following procedures for raising purchase orders and processing via the school's financial management software.
