We are excited to offer an opportunity to join the Urgent and Acute Directorate in the Medicine Care Group, leading the management and coordination of Resident Doctor rotas across the General Paediatric and Medicine specialty services.
You will help modernise rota management, including introducing a digital solution, and supporting clinical teams in the smooth running of their departments. Additionally, you will provide operational support to the General Paediatric department, ensuring efficient resource use, maximising clinical capacity, and overseeing daily operations.
About You:
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
Experience in an operational or administrative role within a hospital setting
IT literate
Confident when communicating across a range of settings

Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Service Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1. Work with clinical leads and Medical HR to provide a robust and effective rota for the Resident Doctors across General Paediatrics and Specialty departments.
2. Work with the Care Group management team and clinical teams to manage daily operations, ensuring a smooth service delivery.
3. Gather and present information to assist with decision-making and improvement projects, specifically concerning digitalising the process of rota management.
4. Support clinical and performance teams to achieve performance goals, manage patient pathways, and address any barriers.
5. Line management, including supporting recruitment, and contributing to staff development.

* Degree or proved graduate level ability or demonstrable equivalent level of experience
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Qualification for Microsoft Office packages (ECDL or equivalent)
Experience
* Experience / ability to work to deadlines
* Experience of working and negotiating with senior and junior colleagues
* Experience of operational management in a busy service environment
* Experience of supervising or managing a team
* Working knowledge of hospital systems (e.g. PAS)
* Previous experience of working in a theatres environment
