We are seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service to help shape the future of psychological services for young people on the Isle of Wight. CAMHS provides brief interventions, specialist assessments, and longer-term treatments for those with severe or complex mental health needs. You will provide clinical psychology assessments and interventions, working collaboratively with families, carers and wider agencies to deliver client centred care.
The role involves working alongside the Consultant Psychologist to develop and expand psychological care pathways, ensuring these align with best practices across our South Coast partners, lead on quality improvement initiatives and support the Clinical Leadership Team in implementing change projects.
We have strong links with the University of Southampton's Doctoral Clinical Psychology course providing opportunities to supervise trainee clinical psychologists, contribute to research, and undertake teaching. You will support the development of assistant psychologists and psychological therapists in the service.

Main duties of the job
1. To assess and treat a specialist caseload of clients.
2. To co-ordinate the provision of specialist psychological approaches and consultation services to external organisations.
3. To grow clinical skills relating to psychological approaches in the service through teaching, case discussion and the provision of supervision.
4. To contribute to policy and service development, addressing areas of need and undertaking change initiatives.
5. To utilise research skills to undertake formal research and complex clinical audit.
6. As a senior psychologist to support the strategic and leadership role of the Consultant Clinical Psychologist by holding delegated responsibility in key areas of service development, workforce development and quality assurance.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Post-Graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychological, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
* Registration with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner (Clinical) Psychologist.
* Professional knowledge acquired through doctoral training, supplemented by post qualification short specialist courses and further specialist training/specialist clinical experience & clinical supervision.
* Formal post-qualification training in clinical supervision of other psychologists or equivalent experience.

Salary: £62,215 to £72,293 a year based on full-time hours.
