Are you passionate about training and development in Radiology? We have an opportunity to train and develop a Band 5 radiographer to become a Band 6 CT Radiographer in our busy and expanding department at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.
You will be joining the team at an exciting period as we are getting new state-of-the-art scanners, bringing the total CT scanners in the department to 3. This role offers a wide range of patient presentations, interventional procedures, and specialized CT examinations.
Main duties of the job
* Undertake and complete training to carry out frontline patient care and high-quality CT radiographic examinations essential to diagnosis and treatment.
* Learn and develop a full understanding of correct justification of CT procedures under supervision and adhere to IRMER procedures.
* Complete IV and cannulation competencies for the safe preparation and administration of contrast agents.

Job responsibilities
Undertake and complete training to carry out frontline patient care and high-quality CT and radiographic examinations essential to diagnosis and treatment. Assess the suitability of patients to undergo CT examinations and specialized procedures and modify technique accordingly in line with policy and protocols. Complete training and gain competence to undertake a wide range of CT examinations across various specialties including trauma, inpatient and outpatient scanning, CT Intervention, Cardiac CT, and CT colonography. Actively participate in the organization of the CT team and patient workload under supervision of the CT radiographers. Work with the Lead CT Radiographer to develop departmental protocols and standard operational procedures. Aspire to maintain high ethical and professional standards in attitude at work including punctuality and appearance. Ensure Trust compliance with Radiology legislative requirements by adhering to and implementing all relevant radiation protection and drug management legislation. Communicate with all grades of medical, nursing, and AHP staff to ensure the most appropriate examination is performed. Obtain informed verbal consent for patients undergoing examination or treatment. Complete IV and cannulation competencies for the safe preparation and administration of contrast agents. Contribute to the quality assurance of CT scanner and other ancillary equipment.

Salary: £29,970 to £44,962 per annum pro rata
