Are you an experienced Senior Pre-Construction Manager looking for a new challenge with a growing and reputable company? You have an exciting opportunity to join a national main contractor operating across the power sector on projects circa £250m. This role has no specific location, but the candidate must be willing to travel to meetings as required. You will be working on a varied portfolio of multimillion-pound projects and be doing a lot of client-facing duties.
The ideal candidate will come from a main contracting background and have experience working on civil engineering projects within the power and energy sector.
Duties will include:
1. Appraisal of documentation to determine the viability of returning compliant bids
2. Undertake detailed Client, project, and stakeholder research
3. Facilitate workshops with the team to develop strategy and share knowledge
4. Provide guidance and develop plans to ensure the strategy is embedded in the tender submission
5. Ability to explore alternative cost options and Value Engineering opportunities
6. Risk management, identify and create initial due diligence/risk register
7. Maintain a library of current & accurate corporate information for inclusion in submissions
8. Managing the tender process
9. Management of the bid writing function
10. Ensure compliance with the Client bid process
11. Review all tender documents to understand client requirements and required deliverables
12. Chair pre-start meeting - allocate owners and set deadlines for content
13. Monitor and report on progress
14. Facilitate and attend all internal and external meetings as required
15. Management of Client and consultant communications, including dissemination to the team and management of appropriate actions
16. Managing support from internal and external bid team, including the design team, BIM manager, programmers, and Health and Safety team
Content generation:
1. Answer bid responses whilst building in the bid strategy
2. Support on technical content where required - understand and resolve complex technical, strategic, and business issues – consulting with all bid team members as required
3. Proofread all submission content – ensure compliant and aligned to Client requirements and bid strategy
4. Write summaries and forewords where required
