About the role This is a generalist position that contributes to the design, delivery and evaluation of community projects. You will leverage your skills in project management, stakeholder and community engagement, and creative thinking to skilfully engage with residents experiencing hardship and respond to the impacts of disadvantage in older established neighbourhoods. Also, this position takes responsibility for the coordination of Council's award-winning Village Cafe Program. The key objective for Village Café is to grow community connections and support local wellbeing. This is a community-facing role that is expected to meet operational demands when balancing hours between office, on site and other locations in accordance with Council’s Finding Balance Policy and other relevant policies and procedures. Essential Completed tertiary studies in social sciences (social work, community services, arts and/or cultural development), community development events or an arts related field Completed or willing to obtain a Certification in Public Participation from the International Association of Public Participation. A passion for social justice, equity and working collaboratively with community to drive positive outcomes Able to work autonomously with high level direction to deliver work Experienced and confident in leading direct community engagement, specifically people experiencing hardship Demonstrated understanding and ability of trauma informed practice, inclusion and cultural awareness. Well-developed time management and organisational skills Experienced in planning and delivering projects/events in a community setting Confident verbal communicator and an ability to write for a range of audiences Current Class C driver licence Desirable Experience in supporting creative/arts projects Experience working with disadvantaged communities Commencing salary: $90,063.00 to $104,251.00 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation.
