Position Overview: We are currently seeking experienced and compassionate Senior Health Carers to join our team in the Swindon area. The successful candidates will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients, ensuring their well-being and dignity are maintained at all times. Job Summary: The Senior Care Assistant plays a key role in providing high-quality care to elderly residents in care homes or residential settings. They will support the day-to-day care needs of residents, oversee care staff, and assist with more complex care tasks. The role involves leading by example, ensuring compassionate, person-centered care, and promoting a safe, comfortable environment. Key Responsibilities: Resident Care: Provide personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility. Medication Administration: Safely administer prescribed medications to residents and keep accurate medication records in line with care protocols. Supervision and Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior care assistants, ensuring they follow best practices in resident care. Health Monitoring: Monitor residents physical and emotional well-being, conduct health checks, and report any concerns or changes to senior management or healthcare professionals. Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of care plans, medication logs, and other resident-related information. Support and Companionship: Foster a supportive environment by providing emotional and social support to residents and encouraging their independence. Family Communication: Communicate regularly with residents' families, updating them on their loved ones well-being and responding to questions or concerns. Compliance: Ensure care practices meet the standards set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and follow health and safety regulations. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency situations, administering first aid as necessary and notifying relevant healthcare professionals. Requirements: Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent. Experience: Prior experience as a Care Assistant, ideally with supervisory experience. Medication Certification: Trained in safe medication administration and record-keeping. Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach. Physical Stamina: Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work long shifts.
