Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health & Safety Manager to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe working environment for all employees by developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a commitment to promoting a culture of safety within the organisation.
Duties
* Develop, implement, and review health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
* Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, utilising root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
* Provide training and support to employees on health and safety practices, including first aid training.
* Prepare detailed reports on health and safety performance, incidents, and compliance for management review.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to health and safety legislation.
* Promote a culture of safety awareness throughout the organisation by engaging with staff at all levels.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a health and safety management role or similar position.
* Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
* Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing effective control measures.
* First aid certification is highly desirable.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis.
* Relevant qualifications in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent) are preferred.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
