This is a wonderful opportunity for a bilingual TRANSLATOR (French to English) to join a heritage company founded in France in the 1800s with a reputation for manufacturing outstanding quality products. The UK business is based close to Oxford and has a stunning showroom and training centre where corporate customers can view its range of high-quality bathroom furnishings. The company is involved in various humanitarian projects and seeks individuals who share its values.
Title: Translator (French to English)
Level of Role: A Trainee Translator will be considered as full training in all business aspects will be provided.
Location: Oxfordshire
Team: Translation services in the Marketing Team
Salary: £35,000-£45,000 + excellent benefits (5 weeks holiday + 8 UK bank holidays)
Work Style: Hybrid 3-4 days in office, 1-2 days remote
Languages: Fluent French, English (Spanish is useful)
Essential Requirement: Fluency in French, English to native standard, and own transport as connections to the office are not straightforward.
Duties:
1. Translating, proofreading, and creating high-quality marketing collateral.
2. Updating the website and liaising with PR and Comms, designers, journalists, and photographers.
3. Proofreading catalogues and all magazine entries.
4. Proofreading existing sales support tools and creating/translating email campaigns.
5. Writing innovative promotional campaigns in English and French.
6. Translating emails and newsletters and localising all marketing collateral to the UK market.
7. Supervising, coaching, and mentoring a junior Marketing Assistant who will support your creative writing and translation efforts.
8. Occasional travel to France to attend events.
Requirements:
1. English to native standard. Fluent French.
2. An interest in translation work.
3. Own transport (essential).
4. Relocation allowance if you need to move to the Oxfordshire area.
5. Opportunity to work from France part of the time.
