Service Delivery are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators. Our Technical Team Leader will manage and lead a team of Engineering Professionals both Mechanical and Electrical to ensure Engineering Regulatory Compliance. They will manage and mitigate Wastewater production, treatment, and other wastewater assets that are associated with risk and resilience issues. The role of the Technical Team Leader is to support the Product & Process Engineers to deliver operational excellence across all wastewater assets. The role is critical in delivering our business performance targets, including Serviceability on our 'Non-Infrastructure' asset base. The role focuses and improves on business processes associated with the overall management and operation of our wastewater treatment works' and key associated STF asset. The Technical Team Leader will be required to lead and manage a team whilst providing support to E&R assets and will therefore be required to demonstrate a good understanding of these functions and the challenges that arise. Where you fit in: As our Technical Team Leader you will: Lead the team to deliver excellent performance by setting clear expectations linked to business targets, having meaningful performance discussions that recognise and reward the right performance and behaviours and challenges where individual performance and behaviours do not meet expectations. Provide quality coaching to the team on RCA, and PIRs. Manage workloads across the team, matching resources to tasks where needed. Ensure best practice and consistency is used in all activities. Liaison with compliance and policy teams to ensure procedural compliance is driven through all the team. To monitor WWTW performance via catchment & SCADA data and other YW systems and coordinate timely reviews of issues arising. Provide technical expertise for the team. Drive and encourage innovation within the team and ensure it is properly prioritised at regional level for evaluation and subsequent implementation. To actively work towards achievement of personal and team priorities including the delivery of Balanced Score Card measures and completion of work to agreed timescales. Work as part of the team to deliver excellent performance by understanding how their individual performance links into achieving the teams wider objectives. Ensure that all activities on the Energy and Recycling asset base is completed in accordance with all YW Health and Safety policies and onsite procedures. Deliver Zero pollution incidents and Zero failing works. Resolve high priority, complex and emergency problems Use a high level of technical knowledge in relation to WWTW and sludge treatment assets to operate and optimise plant Manage escalation and ensure that incidents are brought to resolution as quickly as possible Provide technical support in the management of incidents and near misses Continually look to improve our processes and way we do things Ensure that Peak Tariff costs are avoided where required and provide reach out support to achieve these plans for example TRIAD and DUOS Ensure that all risks and performance shortfalls are fed back to the Technical Support team for inputting onto BRM and are kept up to date. Drive operational improvements to minimise energy and consumables usage What skills & qualifications you will need: You will be analysing complex, technical information therefore your problem-solving skills are key.
