Job Description:

As a Team Leader, you will lead a team within the paint plant. You will report directly to the Production Manager, raising and communicating any issues. As a Team Leader, you will coordinate the team in adhering to all safety and quality standards.
What You Will Do:
1. Continually monitor and audit Health and Safety, People, Quality, Velocity and Cost metrics within your span of control as per Caterpillar Production System (CPS) guidelines meeting targets.
2. Reinforce Caterpillar's Values in Action and communicate to appropriate departments/personnel at daily start of shift meetings.
3. Record defect information in detail to the quality gate visual management boards/management systems.
4. Clearly communicate defects to Paint Operations and support area personnel as defects are identified.
5. Provide detailed quality feedback with quality alerts and quality meetings.
6. Participate in defect investigations and component inspection as required.
7. Maintain the skills matrix for the team to 100% versatility and ensure standard work is updated.
8. Participate in Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIWs) for Safety, Quality, Velocity and Cost within your team operation.
9. Lead the team to meet the daily demand of the job and root cause analyse events leading to process failure.
10. Generate and work on Continuous Improvement (CI) ideas for your assigned area.
What You Have:
1. Identify with Caterpillar's belief in the value of continuous improvement and a team-based culture.

3. Self-motivated with the flexibility to deal with individual and team behaviours, able to motivate others with your advice and experience.
4. Initiative and strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills.
5. Must be flexible and support with extra hours if required.
6. Ability to work through quality issues in a methodical manner.
What You May Have:
1. Previous supervisory experience desirable.
2. Experience within a paint plant environment preferred but not essential.
3. Experience of CPS processes to reduce/eliminate cost.
4. Experience of the Built In Quality (BIQ) process, reporting defects, root cause analysis.
Job Title: Operations Team Leader
Contract: 12 month contract
Salary: £33,850 rising to £37,500 once competent
