Job Title: Finance Analyst (Assistant Accountant) Type: Hybrid - Expectation to work from HO in Northampton each week Hours: Part Time / up to 22.5 hour per week / Monday to Friday Salary: £DOE Closing Date: 21/2/25 Purpose of Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Finance Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of accounting and financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in operations. The Finance Analyst will work closely with other team members to support day-to-day accounting activities and month-end processes. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Maintain and organise the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions. Record and reconcile Expense Journals with accuracy. Prepare and monitor Accruals and Prepayments journals and releases. Perform monthly Bank Reconciliations to ensure accuracy. Maintain the Payroll File and process Payroll Journals accurately. Perform Balance Sheet Reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and supported with proper documentation. Review and verify Profit & Loss (P&L) statements for accuracy. Responsible for Timely and accurate posting of accounting transactions Completion and review of balance sheet reconciliations Identification of risks and opportunities Supporting with the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting where necessary Perform ad-hoc analysis as required Explain complex financial information to Non-Finance Staff and support them with finance-based queries Collaborate and communicate with other Finance Departments Work effectively with different parts of the organisation to achieve common goals Keep up to date with organisational changes, financial regulations, and the marketplace Respond appropriately to issues requiring confidentiality Interact with Internal and External Auditors Experience Desirable Experience in Month-end Accounting Balance Sheet experience Experience in forecasting and budgeting Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Qualifications Part Qualified or Qualified (AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA) Will consider QBE with relevant experience Bright Horizons are committed to creating inclusive environments where everyone has a sense of belonging and has the opportunity to contribute and thrive in meaningful and impactful ways.
