Job Description
A market leading engineering business based in Dorset is seeking to recruit a Commercial Director in a newly created role.
The role is paying £85,000 - £100,000 (depending on experience) + benefits. Candidates must be within commuting distance of the Dorset / Somerset area as the role is primarily based in the office with occasional travel to client sites.
Working as part of the leadership team and reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for:
1. Developing and implementing comprehensive commercial strategies aligned with the company’s business goals and objectives.
2. Analyzing market trends and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
3. Leading efforts to increase revenue through innovative product development, pricing strategies, and marketing initiatives.
4. Collaborating with the sales team to set realistic performance targets and drive accountability.
5. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
6. Representing the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
Qualifications and Experience required for the Commercial Director
1. Minimum of 7 years experience in a commercial/business development role, preferably in the manufacturing/engineering sector.
2. Proven track record of successfully developing and executing commercial strategies that drive growth.
3. Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
4. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
