Auxeris is excited to present an exceptional opportunity for a Laboratory Manager - Metallurgist with a leading metallurgical testing facility based in the UK. We are seeking a motivated professional with a passion for material science and a drive for operational excellence.
About the Role
As the Laboratory Manager, you will play a vital role in leading and managing laboratory operations, overseeing testing services, and ensuring compliance with industry standards like BS EN ISO, ASTM, and ASME. This role is a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and process improvement, offering a unique opportunity for growth and impact within a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
* Testing & Compliance: Oversee and participate in mechanical and metallographic testing, ensuring accurate, repeatable, and reliable results for clients across various sectors.
* Leadership & Team Development: Manage a skilled team of laboratory staff, provide training, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
* Quality Standards: Ensure all lab processes meet quality management requirements and regulatory standards, maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive environment.
* Equipment & Calibration: Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and operation of laboratory equipment to ensure consistent, top-quality testing results.
Who We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for a professional with a background in metallurgy, materials science, engineering, or a similar field. You should have experience managing lab operations, familiarity with quality standards, and a knack for data analysis and interpretation. Qualifications & Experience Required
* A degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in laboratory management, preferably within metallurgical or materials testing.
* Knowledge of BS EN ISO, ASTM, ASME standards and a commitment to quality control.
* Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data handling and report preparation.
