The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and patient Teaching Assistant to join our Reception class. In this role, you will:
* Provide tailored, 1:1 support for a child with SEN, ensuring their educational and social needs are met with sensitivity and care.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement learning plans.
* Support the child’s engagement and confidence in the classroom through activities that promote emotional, social, and academic development.
* Collaborate with the school’s wider team to foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting in the preparation of differentiated resources and activities that align with the child’s specific learning goals.
* Observing and recording the child’s progress, sharing insights with the teaching and SEN team to adapt and enhance the learning experience.
* Promoting effective communication and social interaction to help the child integrate fully into the classroom setting.
* Encouraging independence and resilience, supporting the child in overcoming challenges with patience and creativity.
Essential Requirements
* Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in an Early Years or Primary School setting.
* A caring and understanding approach, with the ability to adapt methods to meet the child’s individual needs.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
* Commitment to supporting the school’s Catholic ethos and values, promoting respect, kindness, and inclusion.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
