My client is a remediation & enabling work contractor providing remediation environmental consultancy & demolition. The business is an Employee Owned Trust with a head office near Manchester. The company is very ambitious, providing remediation & enabling works services to a range of industry sectors and also providing geo-environmental consulting services. A senior role has become available for the technical lead of the business. Working towards a directorship, the technical lead role will encompass a broad range of responsibilities associated with the technical and operational delivery of both site and office-based work. The preferred candidate will have senior level experience in contaminated land assessment, earthworks / ground engineering specifications and have a commercial flair. On occasion you may be required to plan execute and undertake site work depending on available resources. The majority of works will be within the Northwest; however, occasional work further afield may be required. Responsibilities • Technical lead of the business • Delivering technical works for the contaminated land consultancy & remediation contracting part of the business (typically phase 1 & 2 reports, remediation strategy & validation/ verification works). On occasion you may be required to plan execute and undertake site work depending on available resources. The majority of works will be within the Northwest; however, occasional work further afield may be required. • Management & development of junior staff • Work winning & commercial aptitude • Report writing & peer review • Ability to communicate confidently to a broad range of stakeholders • Subcontractor selection and management • Delivery of projects safely and within budget Skills Required • A Relevant Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology • 7-12 years’ background within the geotechnical, remediation and/or geo-environmental consultancy industries • Background working on construction sites to a high standard of health and safety • First class analytical and technical writing abilities are important • Excellent verbal communication skills • A flexible and collaborative attitude to solving problems in a non-hierarchy environment • Full valid UK driving licence • Chemical analysis interpretation for risk assessment • Waste classification (Hazardous waste online) • Production of Method Statements and Risk / COSHH Assessments • QP, Materials Management Plan, Exemptions & Permitting Salary Range • Salary £60,000 – £70,000 TBC • Discretionary Bonus • 33 days Holiday (including bank holidays) • Pension Scheme (4%) • Private Healthcare • Death in Service • Income Protection • 45p/mile (private car) • Salary Sacrifice EV scheme • Potential for flexible working by arrangement There is an immediate start available for the right candidate.
