Head of IT Service Management
to join their team and lead the IT service delivery function. About the Role As the Head of IT Service Management, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the IT strategy and ensuring seamless service delivery across the Council. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the ICT service, including: Service management, incident and problem management, and service catalogue product delivery Supplier, contract, and commercial management Developing and implementing a robust IT service management framework, aligned with strategic goals Driving performance improvements, ensuring compliance, and managing relationships with external partners Preparing for the transition to a new IT service provider, as their current contract ends in March 2026 About You You are a seasoned IT professional with: Qualifications : A relevant and current industry certification (e.g., ITIL Practitioner) Experience : Extensive experience in service management roles, with a proven track record in a leadership position, preferably as a Head of IT Service Management Technical Expertise:
A strong background in IT networks, cloud technologies, M365, and a working knowledge of cyber security basics Leadership Skills : The ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and communicate complex technical challenges to non-technical audiences Commercial Acumen : Strong commercial and supplier management experience Public Sector Experience
(desirable): While not essential, experience working in the public sector or a local authority would be advantageous Why Join?
