Are you a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking for an exciting challenge in a high-performing, safety-focused environment? Based at Enfinium Kemsley, one of the UK’s leading Energy from Waste (EfW) facilities, this role offers the opportunity to work with advanced technology, ensuring efficient plant operation while contributing to a more sustainable future.
Your Role:
As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be a key part of our dynamic maintenance team, ensuring the mechanical integrity of our plant through both preventative and reactive maintenance. Your work will directly contribute to the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our operations.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Ensuring Safety & Compliance – Champion health, safety, and environmental best practices, ensuring all maintenance activities align with regulations and company policies.
2. Leading Mechanical Technicians – Oversee and support the maintenance team, managing performance and personal development.
3. Optimising Plant Performance – Analyse failures, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions to maintain efficiency and meet performance KPIs.
4. Planned Maintenance Excellence – Use the CMMS system to prioritise preventative maintenance, reducing downtime and improving reliability.
5. Managing Outages & Contracts – Plan and execute outage work scopes, ensuring all maintenance is completed safely, efficiently, and within budget.
6. Driving Continuous Improvement – Develop mechanical compliance strategies and work closely with contractors to ensure high standards.
What We’re Looking For:
1. HNC/D or equivalent in Engineering/Mechanical qualification (Desirable)
2. Industry experience in Energy from Waste, power, or heavy industry
3. A hands-on, problem-solving mindset with strong analytical skills
4. Experience leading teams (advantageous but not essential)
5. Health & Safety qualifications (NEBOSH or IOSH) – a plus
6. Familiarity with CDM regulations and safe systems of work
