We have an exciting opportunity for a Content Creator to join the team at Planet Rugby, the world’s most popular rugby website.
Reporting to the Planet Rugby Editor, it is a multi-faceted role that involves creating a wide variety of engaging and entertaining content across both web and multiple social platforms.
The ideal candidate is a rugby fanatic, highly active on social media, and with experience of producing high-quality web and social content at scale. You must be an outstanding writer and storyteller, with the creativity to conceptualise new formats and an eye for design to make your content stand out.
You are a perfectionist, capable of spotting your own mistakes before publishing, and someone who obsesses over analytics, regularly tweaking and testing to drive the performance of their content.
The postholder will be a real team player, too, working around the rugby calendar and assisting with various other tasks shared between staff, for example, managing live blogs, and creating polls, quizzes and other interactive formats.
Content Production
1. Produce high-quality rugby content for Planet Rugby’s website and social media platforms
2. React quickly to trends and major news events with social content in the Planet Rugby tone of voice that upholds brand values
3. Liaise with colleagues to produce social content to complement and promote content from the website
4. Regularly pitch and trial new content formats for web and social
5. Use Figma and other design tools to create on-brand graphics and infographics for web and social channels
6. Be active in the comment sections of your articles and on both our and others’ social media channels
7. Create quizzes, polls and other interactive formats
8. Produce content for live blogs, newsletters and messaging channels as required
Analytics & Management
1. Manage posting schedules for social channels and forward plan to ensure we react to key moments in a timely fashion
2. Maintain a close overview of analytics across social platforms, producing reports for colleagues and leadership teams
3. Use that data to inform changes to content and schedules
4. Maintain a close eye on competitors’ output to ensure our output remains fresh, unique and engaging
5. Monitor trends and relay new content ideas confidently to colleagues and leadership
6. Collaborate with editorial and design colleagues to develop interesting new content formats
7. Manage and maintain lists of evergreen and stats-based content and ensure we re-use and/or update across web and social
8. Develop relationships with other channels, creators and influencers
9. Identify opportunities for collaborations to help raise the profile of the brand and power audience growth.

1. Take responsibility for the quality of all your output, making sure it upholds the standards and tone of the brand
2. Maintain a laser focus on performance metrics and KPIs which will define the success of the role
3. Ensure you follow the company’s Publishing Guidelines for content
4. Ensure you do not publish anything potentially libellous or defamatory that could invite legal action against the company, consulting superiors whenever in doubt before publishing
5. Maintain an up-to-the-minute, ongoing awareness of news and activity in the sports publishing sector – particularly rugby
6. Represent the company in a professional manner on your social media, appearances on other media channels, or at any events
7. Be a champion for everything our brands are doing.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
1. Relevant Degree Level Qualification and/or experience of working in a media environment
2. Experienced in producing written, video and social content at scale in multiple markets
3. Demonstrable evidence of growing audiences on social media
4. Experience of video presenting is preferable
5. Experience of using the Adobe Creative Suite and/or equivalent programs would be beneficial

Salary and Benefits
1. 25 days’ holiday each holiday year plus statutory bank holidays
2. An additional day's leave for your birthday, plus for every year of service up to five years
3. After three months’ service you will be automatically enrolled in our company pension scheme
4. Upon commencement of employment, you will be enrolled in the Company’s life assurance plan, which will pay out a tax-free lump sum to your beneficiaries of four times your basic salary in the event of your death
5. After three months’ service you will enrolled in the Company’s income protection scheme, under which you will be paid a taxable income equivalent to 75% of your basic salary less any state benefits in the event that you are unable to work for a period of 26 weeks due to ill health.
