About the Role
:
As a General Operative, you will be working on our SHDF retrofit programme within the social housing background, providing a stable and profitable contract, delivering excellent service and support through our local teams, who understand the importance of working together for the local community. Providing front facing support and advice as required and delivering proactive communication throughout the works life cycle. Putting the customer at the heart of everything we do; ensuring we meet the needs of the business, our clients, and our customers.
1. Assist with site preparation and clean-up of the site office
2. Removal of waste from site
3. Handle and transport materials safely and efficiently
4. Support skilled tradespeople in retrofit activities
5. Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks to support retrofit goals
6. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
7. Maintain a high standard of work quality and attention to detail
8. Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met
9. Report any issues or concerns to the site supervisor promptly
10. Participate in site meetings and provide input on project improvements
11. Take initiative and ownership in undertaking allocated tasks and supporting delivery of planned works activities aiming for a first time completion whilst remaining within budget and time parameters
12. Provide high levels of customer care at all times
13. Responsible for working at heights
Role Criteria:
14. Experience in the above duties
15. Full UK driving license
16. EWI experience
17. Knowledge of PAS 2035 domestic retrofit
18. Asbestos Awareness

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
Candidates should be aware that all our roles are subject to relevant DBS/Security checks before commencement of employment.
