We’re looking for a Development Project Manager to join us here at Bristol Airport to support our exciting growth plans.
We’re committed to Making a Difference to our people and our customers, and we are looking for an experienced Development Project Manager who can assure the financial and contractual delivery of a diverse range of projects. You’ll manage projects from inception to post-completion, collaborating closely with our project managers, project consultant teams and stakeholders to ensure internal financial governance is complied with at all times.
This role would suit an experienced Development Project Manager who has experience in delivering the entire project cycle within a busy operational environment.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage the planning and implementation of projects, defining project scope, goals and deliverables, allocating resources, planning and scheduling key milestones in line with Bristol Airport framework.
2. Ensure all projects fully align with our strategic objectives and values, in terms of design, appointment of contractors, treatment of third parties and delivering against our sustainability objectives.
3. Manage a project team of internal colleagues and external consultants, motivating, providing direction, supporting and successfully developing a collaborative and supportive team approach.
4. Assure the highest standards of health, safety and well-being throughout every project lifecycle, promoting a proactive approach, and ensuring compliance with fire strategy.
5. Manage the project schedule, identify the critical path issues and initiate mitigating actions to ensure on-time delivery.
6. Closely manage all project-related finances, ensuring compliance with procurement policy, disseminating costs/budgets to internal departments and tracking costs to budget.
7. Ensure that internal specifications are commissioned for any mechanical and electrical installations and that designs/implementations meet them as a minimum.
8. Manage any tender processes, and manage all contractors to ensure best practice, value for money and compliance with competition law.
9. Fulfil the detailed handover procedures including delivery of drawings, specifications and archive information, ensuring that asset records are maintained up to date at all times.
10. Undertake full post-completion project evaluations, assessing and reporting on findings.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
1. Educated to a minimum of degree qualified or equivalent with relevant qualification in project management, engineering, or similar.
2. Experience of delivering the entire project lifecycle (planning, procuring, developing, implementing, and reviewing).
3. Demonstrate a good understanding of a range of contract structures, and procurement practices, along with appropriate frameworks within which to manage them.
4. Proven track record of managing projects in a busy operational environment, with the ability to identify and manage risks, and integrate projects to optimise costs, dependencies, and benefits.
5. Proven success in leading, influencing and managing cross-functional teams to deliver complex objectives.
6. Pragmatic and creative approach to problem-solving, whilst ensuring no corners are cut nor standards/values are compromised.
7. Good understanding of and strong commitment to high standards of health and safety.
Desirable
1. Membership of RICS or similar is preferred.
2. Infrastructure and/or Airport specific experience.
