As a Senior MRI Radiographer at Duchy Hospital, the opportunities to develop yourself and the services we provide are abundant. As a hospital undertaking cardiac services, previous experience in Cardiac MRI is highly desirable as well as experience with Siemens equipment. The service will be open from 8 am - 8 pm, Monday to Saturday, and shifts will align to the unit hours of opening. We are looking for an experienced and motivated radiographer looking to progress and enhance their supervisory and clinical skills.
A previous experience in MRI (Min 2 Years) is essential. The successful candidate must be willing to take part in our extended evening and weekend MRI service.
The candidate will need to demonstrate experience and knowledge of all aspects of Radiology with an interest in service improvement to ensure the department continues to be progressive and efficient.
You must be committed and willing to take on additional responsibilities, and you will be required to participate in the out of hour and 7-day working rota.
The role will include supporting the junior staff and contributing to the training of students, as well as resolving day-to-day issues related to workload management and patient queries.
As a Senior MRI Radiographer, you will:
* Have a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent).
* A postgraduate qualification and/or high levels of technical knowledge (desirable).
* Possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in a wide variety of MRI scans including cardiac, and small bowel enterography and liver imaging.
* Have an understanding and empathetic approach to patients and staff alike.
* Be respectful towards all individuals, including staff, patients and visitors.
* Have a proactive and forward-thinking approach to work.
* Ensure a service of the highest quality is delivered with sensitivity and compassion.
* Demonstrate excellent communication and team working abilities.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload.
* Be highly proficient in the use of all equipment within the scope of practice.
* Supervise and develop junior colleagues.
* Accountable for MRI safety in line with local rules.
* Work within IRMER and own scope of practice, in accordance with the code of conduct set out by the HCPC.
* Participate in departmental audits and Quality Assurance programme.
* Provide support to the Clinical Lead Radiographers and Imaging Manager.
* Ensure equipment is safe and fit for purpose and can report faults in line with Ramsay Health policy.
* Competency in IV cannulation is essential.
* Provide input to the review, update and implementation of departmental policy and procedural changes.
* Comply with all Ramsay Health policies and procedures.
* Ensure all records are maintained in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
* Participate in on-call rota (must be able to attend site within one hour of call activation).
