We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic Surgical Advanced Clinical Practitioner Team.
This is a Trustwide role based being at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. You will be working within the general surgical unit covering surgical same day emergency care, wards and theatres. The role involves working unsocial hours and there is the potential for nights in the future. Surgical SDEC is an ACP led service providing a 7 day a week service. We take surgical referrals directly from GPs, UTCs, A& E and East Midlands Ambulance Service.
The role is one of continual development. The Band 8a qualified ACP will need to have an existing MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice. Band 7 Trainee ACPs will work towards the Band 8a job description but must have a first degree in an appropriate professional group. We welcome multi-professional applications from professions eligible to prescribe i.e. nurses, AHPs, paramedics and pharmacists.
Main duties of the job
The ACP uses specialist knowledge and skills to provide healthcare autonomously within their sphere of practice. The ACP is accountable for independent clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with undiagnosed and undifferentiated conditions at an advanced level, appropriately managing the patient journey.
The post holder will be a Registered Healthcare Professional and hold an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent and be an Independent Prescriber. They will demonstrate in depth knowledge and competence in general surgery, encompassing evidence based practice, critical thinking and clinical management skills.
The post holder will have a Trust-wide responsibility to promote clinical excellence in the care of patients within the Surgical division, providing clinical advice and support to health care professionals, working closely alongside the MDT.
The ACP will have protected time to maintain and further develop their professional competence. They will also provide ongoing supervision and support for post registration and medical staff.
As a senior member of the MDT, the ACP will also play a pivotal role in the operational development of the service. They will initiate, manage and drive change, innovating changes in practice for the benefit of patient care in line with current trust and local programmes.

* Evidence of teaching, supervision & assessment skills

* Instructor on ALS
Previous Experience

* Substantial post registration relevant experience

* Management, supervisor and leadership experience.
* Completed portfolio of supervised practice in Urology Care
