We are seeking a dynamic and commercially focused General Manager to lead the hotels operations and drive its transformation into a sustainable and profitable business.
Roomzzz Manchester Victoria is in the very heart of the action, located in the iconic Grade 2 listed Corn Exchange building, each of our 114 beautifully designed serviced apartments have a character and unique feature all of their own. This location puts you right in the centre of one of the UK’s most vibrant cities.
Main Duties:
* Oversee daily hotel operations, ensuring revenue growth, service quality, and adherence to health & safety standards.
* Recruit, train, and develop staff to ensure technical efficiency and high service standards.
* Handle cash, banking, invoicing, and account management, ensuring compliance with brand policies.
* Maintain exceptional guest relations and consistent service delivery to maximise satisfaction.
* Ensure proactive upkeep of facilities and efficient stock and rota management for housekeeping.
* Recommend and implement operational changes to enhance guest experiences.
* Participate in shift management and attend meetings/training as required.
* Develop strategies to maximise revenue, explore new income streams, optimise pricing, and build corporate/leisure partnerships.
* Represent the hotel at events, build stakeholder relationships, and oversee sales activities to generate business leads.
* Ensure seamless day-to-day operations, including launching and managing an integrated coffee shop.
* Leverage partnerships with local businesses and the Corn Exchange management team.
* Manage budgets, control costs, and ensure P&L targets are met, providing regular reports to senior management.
Skills & Experience:
* Minimum 5 years in senior roles (General Manager, Commercial Manager) within hospitality.
* Proven success in revenue management, sales, and business development.
* Strong leadership, financial acumen, and stakeholder management skills.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
* Results-driven, proactive, and entrepreneurial mindset.
* Innovative thinker with a passion for exceptional guest experiences.
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
