Your responsibilities
Supporting the Direct Tax Manager, the Senior Tax Analyst will be an integral part of the Uniper UK direct tax team. You will have the opportunity to work with the wider business and take an active role in assisting the Direct Tax Manager to ensure the UK group is compliant with all relevant tax legislation. You will help research specific tax issues to respond to business queries, all of which will allow you to grow your knowledge in tax and develop this new role, based on your drive and eagerness.
You will support the Direct Tax Manager with the following:
* Preparation of year-end close tax reporting
* Preparation of UK statutory account tax disclosures & true-up calculations
* Preparation of UK corporation tax computations and returns to a high standard, using Thomson Reuters OneSource Corporation Tax
* Assisting in the preparation of capital allowance and research and development claims
* Support transfer pricing compliance, including review of cross border business transactions and support in the preparation & review of transfer pricing local files
* Provide ad-hoc tax support to the UK and overseas parent company on a wide range of projects, including supporting project investment analysis, tax transparency reporting, Pillar 2 compliance & CFC reviews
* Digitalising the current tax processes to reduce risk and make the tax compliance process more efficient.
Your profile
* Ideally you will be qualified ACA, ACCA or Chartered Tax Advisor
* Proven experience and technically competent knowledge of UK corporation tax and general corporate tax principles gained within an international accountancy firm or within a major corporate group.
* Strong communication skills with a proven ability to place tax in a business context and explain technical concepts to non-tax people.
* Driven to develop and improve tax technical knowledge, techniques and processes, as well as interested in understanding non-tax financial aspects of an international group
* Experience of international tax issues sufficient to be able to identify & communicate issues affecting the UK Group in the wider context of our international business.
* Ability to establish and maintain a key network of contacts within the tax function and cross functionally in the UK, with external service providers and with peers within the Industry
