The Newcastle Virtual School is seeking to appoint two permanent Educational Achievement Coordinators to its established team.
This is a key role, ensuring that the education of children in care reaches the highest standards possible and that professionals involved are held to account through the monitoring and quality assurance of personal education plans.
The successful applicant will have had experience of working in an education setting and can demonstrate an understanding of how trauma can impact upon a child's potential. They will be able to work independently following a hybrid working model and must therefore be comfortable with all aspects of IT and leading video calls.
The ability to be solution-focused is essential, as is the awareness of how these solutions form part of a wider strategy when working with a range of services and other professionals. This interpersonal approach is fundamental to the Virtual School and is closely supported by electronic record keeping and processes.
The aim of the Virtual School is to empower through education towards a brighter future. If you are interested, please contact Karl Harms, Virtual School Headteacher for a further conversation at karl.harms@newcastle.gov.uk.
