Lead Mechanical Engineer (Nuclear)

Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development of Mechanical engineering and design within multi-discipline EPCM or EPC projects.
* Support projects within the nuclear sector and other sectors (Oil & Gas, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, and Food).
* Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers.
* Drive quality in engineering designs and projects, including checking and approval of design deliverables.
* Ensure designs are compliant with CDM regulations and other relevant standards.
* Manage and complete the mechanical design within the defined scope, time, and budget.
* Participate in internal and external design reviews; responsible for design acceptance by the client.
* Make independent decisions on issues, providing expert technical support within the mechanical engineering team.
Your Profile
If you have the following profile, then we are looking forward to meeting you:
* Hold a qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Nuclear Engineering, preferably to Degree level (BEng or MEng).
* Demonstrable experience (5 years plus) as Lead / Senior / Principal Engineer in multi-discipline engineering projects.
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) with IMechE or equivalent institute (Preferable).
* Working knowledge of general engineering standards and specifications (Essential) and nuclear standards (Preferred).
* Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
* Understanding of other disciplines (Civil, Structural, EC&I, and Process).
* Experience with mechanical specifications, basis of design, scopes of work, calculations, drawings, 3D models, schedules, and compliance assessments.
* Result-oriented with a focus on client satisfaction.
* Ability to plan and organize activities effectively.
* Familiarity with main mechanical design packages (e.g., AutoCAD, Plant3D, E3D, Caesar II).
* Implement solid change control procedures and communicate budget and planning consequences of changes.
* Ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve targets.
* Capable of developing and presenting design packages to clients.
* Able to prepare for chair design review meetings.
* Meet UK security clearance requirements (SC Clearance Preferable).
