Commercial Director
Location: Midlands Hybrid
Reporting To: Managing Director
A leading design and build contractor, part of a full–service engineering group, is seeking an experienced Commercial Director to drive growth and strategy.
About the Company
Our client specialises in HVAC solutions for multiple live manufacturing environments (including Food & Beverage, Automotive, and Manufacturing), and is known for quality, sustainability, and direct client relationships.
The Role
This is a senior leadership position focused on commercial strategy, business development, and financial management, with key responsibilities including:
Strategic & Commercial Leadership:
* Develop and implement commercial strategy to drive revenue and profitability.
* Identify market opportunities and expand service offerings.
* Oversee financial forecasting, cost control, and contract negotiations.
Business Development & Client Engagement:
* Secure new contracts and maintain strong client relationships.
* Lead tendering, bidding, and supplier partnerships.
* Provide tailored solutions to clients operational challenges.
Leadership & Team Development:
* Mentor and develop high–performing sales and commercial teams.
* Implement training programmes and support daily operations.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Extensive experience of selling complex HVAC, MEP solutions into live manufacturing environments.
* Strong understanding of design, engineering, and installation processes.
* Proven success in business development and commercial strategy.
* Expertise in financial management, contract negotiation, and risk mitigation.
* Inspirational leader with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Location:
Office based in the West Midlands, but, role will effectively be field based with 1 or 2 day in office a week.
