What the role involves:
1. Providing care and guidance to vulnerable children and young people.
2. Promoting good relationships and achievements whilst being a positive role model.
3. Promoting and ensuring safeguarding for any children and young people.
4. Ensuring care plans are updated accordingly.
5. Ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.
6. Taking part in any day-to-day activities with the children and young people.
What we need from you:
* At least 6 months UK care experience working with children.
* Support individuals to be empowered and take control of their own lives.
* Have use of your own transport or have the ability to travel freely on public transport.
* Strong communication and listening skills.
* The ability to build trusting relationships based on empathy, respect, and non-judgemental support.
* Commitment and reliability.
* Behavioural management training - CALMS, TCI and PMVA.
* Must be SSSC registered or willing to register within the first 6 months of joining.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness and addictions is essential. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with diverse populations. Excellent communication and active listening skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Understanding of trauma-informed care principles and harm reduction strategies.
