The fast growth of the Business over the past few years has led to a need for increased compliance, governance and process, in the UK, Europe and the US. With two direct reports (at least initially), it requires a sleeves rolled up approach, from someone exited to carve out their own role and make their mark. This is very much a build and grow situation, being part of a crucial professionalisation stage for AU Vodka, a very exciting challenge for the right person. There are new relationships in place with reputable third party advisors and a new audit firm, all of whom are keen to support and guide. This role could be perfect for someone looking for their first FC role. Equally, experience in a previous FC role could be very valuable in building an a-star function. Key Responsibilities Building of a new 13 week cashflow forecast model and reporting pack, along with ongoing update Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations Responsible for vendor payments and associated approvals and reporting Creation of monthly working capital reporting and interpretation and communication of insights and issues Working with Operations team and other key stakeholders to ensure system records are accurate and any issues are overcome Responsible for creation of key policies and procedures, principally Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Inventory and Treasury Filing of the monthly UK VAT return Ensuring third party agency has the required information in a timely manner to file VAT returns in Netherlands Responsible for daily bank reconciliations and business banking, across multi currencies Reconciliation of excise duty account on monthly basis and payment of amount owed Leading on the annual audit, with top 10 audit firm conducting the audit (for the first time in 2024) Creation of quarterly Board working capital reporting for CFO Responsible for UK payroll, run in-house and non-UK payrolls, processed by third party agents Requirement to feed into FP&A team to aid management accounts accuracy and timeliness Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Qualified accountant 3 years experience in relevant role(s) Excellent excel skills Experience in working with inventor Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable Experience in balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations Understanding of audit and ability to work with auditors to ensure they meet their timelines, discussing and solving any issues as they arise Knowledge of UK VAT A fast learner A calm and measured approach to work Excellent communication skills Naturally curious Excellent business partnering skills, able to speak calmly and clearly, bridging the knowledge gap between business and third parties Ability to trouble shoot and solve issues Self motivated, always striving to improve A sleeves rolled up approach An organised and pragmatic approach to work, able to prioritise effectively Desirable Skills And Experience Experience with Xero software Experience with Cin7 WMS software Experience in working in a fast growing Business Experience in accounting for UK and International excise duties in Alcohol industry International finance experience Experience in audit and accounting standards Benefits As a business that is all about getting out there and enjoying life, we wouldn’t be true to our values unless we offered some pretty awesome benefits to help our people to do the same.
