This role is crucial in the maintenance and refit of serving naval vessels, including QEC and Type 45 Destroyers. You will be part of a team responsible for the structural maintenance and repairs of the British Naval Fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrate trade competency, achieving at least 60% skill level against MS_ Constructive competencies
Conduct trade-specific point of work risk assessments before each task, as directed by the Team Leader
Adhere to all Risk Assessments, BAE policies, and legal requirements
Ensure all tools and equipment are suitable, fit for purpose, and have up-to-date inspections
Participate in training courses, Tool Box Talks, and briefings whenever possible
Develop and maintain positive customer relationships, managing their expectations and needs, while mentoring allocated apprentices
Report all accidents, incidents and near misses using the appropriate reporting tool
Job Requirements:
Completion of an appropriate trade apprenticeship or naval equivalent qualifications, or relevant NVQ in Trade
Experience in fabrication
Competency in using a wide range of hand tools and equipment
Relevant industry experience in Marine, Oil & Gas, Heavy Construction, or Rolling Stock
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
