Willow Gardens is an Extra Care service offering Care and Support to Older people living in their own homes in a supportive environment. We are a supportive and friendly team. There will be opportunities to develop with the team.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to:
1. Provide practical support and guidance to our front-line care and support team through on-the-job observational supervision.
2. Completion of Forms and Personalised Care Plans.
3. Provide management cover in the absence of the Extra Care Manager/ Assistant Manager and Support Team Manager where required.
4. Undertake Duty Management tasks as defined on a rota basis.
Minimum Requirements
You will require:
1. NVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent.
2. Level 2 in Literacy skills or equivalent.
3. Minimum of 2 years working with vulnerable adults, adults with disabilities, and adults with dementia.
4. Knowledge of the Care Standards, and CQC inspection framework.
5. Good awareness of Extra Care Services both social care and the housing management aspects.
The post will require an enhanced DBS with Adult Barring check.
Job Responsibilities
Your current duties and responsibilities are:
1. Empower individuals who use the services to be as independent as possible and maximise their potential.
2. Contribute to the protection and safeguarding of people who use our service by contributing to minimising the level of abuse in care environments.
3. Maintain accurate records in accordance with the service standards.
4. Provide management cover for the services in the absence of the Extra Care Manager or Team Support Manager.
5. Support individuals with the development of person-centred Care and Support plans.
6. Support Care Staff to deliver a quality care service and maintain good practices that meet the needs of People who use our services.
7. Work alongside other relevant key agencies.
8. Provide housing-related issues including all tenancy support tasks required to support tenants.
9. Respond to emergencies and provide assistance as appropriate.
10. Ensure the welfare and safety of tenants.
11. Participate in the assessment, planning, and review of individual support and care needs.
12. Monitor the effectiveness and appropriateness of care and housing services.
13. Promote and support the planning and delivery of leisure, recreational, and general community-based activities.
14. Welcome new tenants and provide them with information on the local area.
15. Assist with matters relating to housing management.
16. Attend team meetings and training events as required.
17. Champion and execute an open culture of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).
Person Specification
Experience
* Minimum of two years experience working with adults with a disability or older people/older people with mental health needs.
Qualifications
* NVQ level 2 in care or equivalent.
* Willingness to achieve NVQ 3 in care or equivalent.
* Level 2 literacy or equivalent.
