We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Electrician to join our Walsall Street Lighting account (WS10 8JR)
The Role:
Electricians play a crucial role in the Walsall Street Lighting account. Their expertise ensures the proper installation and maintenance of street lighting, which is vital for public safety and security. By keeping the streets well-lit, they help prevent accidents and deter crime, making communities safer and more welcoming places. In addition, their work supports the local infrastructure, contributing to the overall functionality and resilience of the city. The dedication and skill of these electricians are instrumental in enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
The standard hours of work are 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4pm)
There will be additional overtime, and a call out rota of every 1 in 4 weeks (details to be confirmed at interview stage)
What you'll do:
Install and repair street lighting, signs, bollards, and feeders according to HEA and IEE 18th Edition wiring regulations.
Diagnose and replace failed components and attend routine street lighting faults.
Excavate for bollard and sign foundations.
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, ensuring the security of plant, tools, and materials, and wearing all PPE.
Take part in out-of-hours emergency services on a call-out basis.
Attend all required training and regular tool box talks, which may involve occasional overnight stays. What we can offer you:

Essential:
Driving Licence (C1 Driving Licence desirable)
City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation
Must be able to work outdoors in challenging weather conditions Desirable:
Electrical Inspection and Testing (2391) or HERS/HEA equivalent
Experienced working with electrical installations within the public realm & highways
18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Experienced and competent with Stihl saws & other Power Tools Application Guidance:
