Job Title: Press & Weld TIG/MIG Welder Department: Production Press & Weld Reporting to: Press & Weld Area Supervisor Job Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled TIG/MIG Welder to join our client's production team. This role involves welding a variety of metal materials, from thin gauge to medium heavy plate, using both manual and automated equipment. The successful candidate will work independently and, on occasion, as part of a team to achieve production targets while adhering to high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance: Consistently uphold high standards for both standard and bespoke metal products. Communication: Maintain proactive communication with supervisors, managers, and the Quality Control team regarding production performance, quality assurance, and health & safety (H&S) matters. Work Area Management: Ensure the work area is kept clean, organised, and compliant with H&S regulations. Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). General Requirements: Experience: Previous experience in an engineering or sheet metal production environment is essential. Quality Inspections: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure production meets required standards. Process Adherence: Follow established internal processes and complete associated paperwork accurately. IT Skills: Basic proficiency with IT systems. Qualifications/Experience: Manufacturing Background: Proven experience in a manufacturing environment. Lean Manufacturing: Practical understanding of lean manufacturing principles and familiarity with 5S methodologies. Welding Experience: Ideally, experience with mechanical presses, spot welding, and a general understanding of sheet metal processing. Engineering Drawings: Ability to interpret engineering drawings effectively. Essential Skills: Autonomy: Ability to work independently and manage strict deadlines, even under pressure. Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with effective troubleshooting abilities. Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Manual Dexterity: High level of attention to detail and manual dexterity. Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Commercial Awareness: Understanding of production efficiency and commercial aspects. Work Management: Demonstrated ability to manage workload and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
