What you'll be doing :
• Direct line management (including responsibility for coaching and development) of Bid Managers and Solution Specialists both employed and contingent aligned to market sectors and priority pursuits.
• Support pre-sales activity for priority pursuits to ensure the deal is well shaped ahead of qualification and throughout the sales cycle, where appropriate.
• Define and manage Bid Budgets for a Client Group pipeline in line with company process and against forecast.
• Lead a multi-disciplinary team of Capita and partner stakeholders across a portfolio of deals to deliver high quality priority bids and proposals across multiple workstreams and in line with Capita standards, policies and industry best practice.
• Lead external engagement with client and partner stakeholders for allocated deals, including Market Engagement, Competitive Dialogue and/or Negotiation.
• Lead Win Strategy workshops that define and drive a winning sales strategy, including the evaluation of competitors' strengths and weaknesses and Capita's differentiators and any potential/required partnerships or consortiums, to increase Probability of Winning ("PWIN"), converting this into actions and compelling Proposal Storyboards in conjunction with Bid and Proposal Managers.
• Lead in the presentation of all necessary internal governance in line with Capita's process, ensuring the effective control of quality, risk and cost effectiveness of each bid.
What we're looking for :
• Deep understanding of the public sector procurement environment, including a strong understanding of client decision-making and contracting processes.
• Demonstrable ability to build effective internal and external relationships with colleagues, suppliers and partners that enables effective collaborative working and a positive and productive working environment, adapting communications style to influence.
• Comfortable working with autonomy in a high challenge, high complexity environment, including delegation to others of varying seniority.
• Anticipates objections to proposed approach and can gain buy-in from decision makers, including managing differing perspectives to a recommended position.
• Able to understand, engage with and influence Operational, Financial and/or Commercial bid inputs.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 for general business use, and able to lead in the development of associated materials and templates.
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple conflicting priorities simultaneously, whilst maintaining attention to detail.
