Job Description:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Building Services Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established engineering practice. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of high-profile construction projects across the UK. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the full project lifecycle, from initial client briefs through to completion, ensuring high standards of design, project management, and technical oversight.
Role Overview:
The position involves taking projects from conception to completion, producing proposal documents, and converting client briefs into detailed Mechanical designs. The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders, managing technical and construction issues, and ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop Mechanical design solutions for a range of projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications.
Produce mechanical drawings and specifications for tender and construction phases.
Oversee and manage projects, dealing with all technical and construction-related matters.
Attend design meetings, assess contractor valuations, and conduct site inspections.
Witness and test installations, issuing snagging reports where necessary.
Utilise software such as IES, Revit, and AutoCAD to design key systems
Heating installations, Air conditioning, Mechanical ventilation, VRV/VRF systems, Water services & Soils and wastes
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Experience & Skills Required:
Minimum HND in Mechanical Building Services Engineering.
Up to five years of post-graduate experience in a similar role within a Building Services Consultancy or Design & Build environment.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in IES, Revit, and AutoCAD.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to a positive working environment.
