Your role and responsibilities
As a Product Manager for the Europe, Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions, you will be accountable for the long-term profitable growth of the portfolio under your responsibility, consisting of various product lines of electrical installation accessories and termination solutions. Reporting to a Lead Global Product Manager, you will support the business results by overseeing all steps of the offering lifecycle and managing its marketing in accordance with market needs and division strategy and targets. Your responsibilities include:
1. Understand and define current market segmentation and related offering positioning. Define offering value proposition and clear positioning per segments & channels and ensure clear communication to sales, channels and users.
2. Determine the offering business plan that supports sustainable growth, identifying potential gaps in portfolio, both against competition and new market opportunities.
3. Lead the life-cycle management process. Analyze current offering, define and track performance metrics, plan appropriate measures and make decisions on offering obsolescence to ensure market requirements are met and profitability maximized.
4. Contribute to development of new portfolios, using process stage gates, planning the offering roadmap to create maximum value for the customer needs. Initiate and drive product launch and follow-up of offering portfolio performance.
5. Own the technical and market specifications for the offering. Initiate creation of external and internal product training modules and programs as needed.
6. Participate in annual business planning and monitor global sales target fulfilment along the year.
7. Participate in creating a Sustainability strategy for the offering portfolio, supporting ABB's commitment to circular economy.
Qualifications for the role
* BS in engineering or operations management, with relevant experience in product management.
* Good experience and knowledge of the electrical industry.
* Strong entrepreneurship, project management, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
* A collaborative, solution-focused approach, with strong written and spoken communication skills, as well as relationship-building skills.
* Experience in manufacturing and/or electrical wholesaler sector would be an asset.
