About the role To provide internal communication (IC) knowledge and experience to plan, deliver and measure internal communications for Freeths. Working closely with the Senior Internal Communications Manager, you will build, develop and manage communication channels and campaigns, create compelling content, provide advice and continually improve the firm’s IC service through evaluation and interpretation of our target audiences’ communication needs, and their interaction with messages and channels. Key responsibilities Channel responsibilities Hold day-to-day responsibility of management and development of existing IC digital channels, including the weekly newsletter and intranet news service Develop and enhance the firm’s range of IC channels to ensure they remain relevant, accessible and engaging Manage and schedule requests for messaging across IC channels using our existing content log and associated processes Manage other IC channels when required Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of IC techniques/platforms to keep our communications fresh, compelling and relevant for our modern internal audiences. Content responsibilities Day-to-day proactive planning, production and management of IC messages Ensure that all content (self-generated and colleague-generated) is written, edited, fact checked and curated to the highest standard, and always uphold our corporate editorial style and tone of voice Ensure that editorial decisions are made drawing on your understanding of Freeths’ colleague audiences, the latest communications techniques and the most effective channels to deliver them through Check and evaluate engagement with messaging from across the firm as needed Develop compelling content to keep colleagues up to date and engaged with the firm’s strategy and key initiatives/projects, working with stakeholders to develop engaging news and announcements for a range of IC channels Make full use of available media to ensure that messaging is fresh, accessible and appropriate for colleagues. Project/engagement responsibilities Support the Senior IC Manager to be part of the communications workstream on selected projects Provide IC advice and support to colleagues and key internal stakeholders Create comprehensive communications plans with compelling, tailored messaging that aligns with project objectives, audiences and timescales Plan and deliver a diverse range of colleague engagement projects and two-way communications opportunities designed to help colleagues feel informed, involved and actively involved in the firm’s plans/direction Help identify and map internal stakeholders, communication risks and opportunities, appropriate channels and evaluation tools Support on IC issues arising from change management activities Ensure that project communications with stakeholders are timely, relevant and accurate Support on scheduling campaigns and messaging to balance communication priorities without ‘message overload’ Develop strong links with key stakeholders and understand their challenges, audience(s) and IC needs. Reporting and analysis Use analytics to identify opportunities to increase the range and frequency of engagement and to establish and manage new channels where appropriate Support in evaluating and providing updates on IC activities and their impacts.
