About the Role:
As a Social Worker with Durham County Council, you will play a key role in supporting children in care and their families. Your primary responsibility will be to assess the needs of the child, develop and implement individualized care plans, and ensure the child's voice is heard in decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough assessments of the child's emotional, educational, and physical well-being.
* Develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring tailored support is provided based on the child's unique circumstances and aspirations.
* Collaborate with a range of professionals, including foster carers, adoptive families, schools, and health professionals, to create a cohesive support network.
* Advocate for the child's needs and promote their best interests.
Requirements:
* A recognized social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, BSC Social Work)
* A valid Social Work England registration
* Significant experience working with children in care, including experience in care planning and reviews
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse individuals
* A deep understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to children in care
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children
