Schedule: FT, M-F 8:00am - 4:30pm
Reporting Relationship: Community Center Director/Corps Officer
Salary and Grade: 76, NE

Responsibilities
Position Overview:
A committed Christian with a solid relationship with Jesus Christ who will develop, conduct, and coordinate all programs for children and youth as well as direct the Community Center and all of its programs.
Description of Position:
* The Day Camp Coordinator will:
* Assist the Corps Officers with the creative oversight and planning of the day camp program.
* Interact with parents and campers, possessing the ability and desire to work with children to enhance their spiritual, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
* Lead and instruct staff to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
* Be present in all programs, ensuring that order is maintained with children and staff alike.
* Plan and implement themed devotions when it is your day to present the program.
* Write and release a weekly newsletter to parents each Monday informing them of the weekly schedule and activities.

Qualifications
Requirements:
* Significant experience in youth programming and leadership (no less than 2 years).
* Good organizational skills.
* Ability to work and relate well with staff, campers, and parents/guardians; must have a positive attitude toward fostering children's development.
* Must profess a faith in Christ and a desire to serve Him, as this is a Christian Day Camp program.
* Ability to develop and maintain program schedules, along with leading group devotions, singing, and activities for both large and small groups.
* Valid PA Driver’s License with a good record and able to be an approved driver for The Salvation Army based on insurance criteria.
* As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse.
* Must complete Child Protection Clearances as required by PA Act 153, including PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check, along with renewals every five years.
* Must have an understanding of and support for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
