Your Role as a Teaching Assistant: As a Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning. Work closely with teachers to adapt lessons and materials for individual student needs. Foster a supportive, positive, and inclusive classroom environment. Use strategies and interventions to assist with communication, emotional regulation, and behaviour management. Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and SEN coordinators. Develop strong relationships with students, encouraging confidence, independence, and engagement in learning. Who Would Make a Great Teaching Assistant? This role is ideal for someone who: Has prior experience working with children or young people with SEN, such as autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties. Is patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting students to achieve their potential. Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. Holds relevant qualifications or training in SEN (desirable but not essential, as additional training can be provided).
