This is an opportunity as a Retirement Housing Assistant to bring both your facilities know-how and housing knowledge into a rewarding, community focused role. Cathedral Park in a newly opened retirement village where occupancy is gradually increasing. As a Retirement Housing Assistant, you'll play a key role in ensuring our retirement villages residents spaces are safe, clean, and supportive where residents can continue living independently. This role is a blended — combining practical village facilities with housing support and tenancy support. You’ll carry out regular cleaning and safety checks (supported by the Facilities Officer) helping us maintain high standards of hygiene and compliance. You’ll also support our residents by responding to alarm activations, emergencies and assisting with resident activities and social events. You’ll have a friendly presence on site whilst supporting our residents’ wellbeing and reporting any concerns. This is a varied, hands-on role that requires flexibility, strong time management, and a real can-do attitude. This is a part-time role averaging 16 hours per week, designed with flexibility in mind. You’ll work primarily during evenings and weekends, with some additional weekday hours — ideal for someone who’s looking to balance other commitments while making a meaningful impact. Evening shifts include sleep-ins, for which you'll receive additional payment, and your working pattern will follow a predictable 4-week rota Whether you're looking to reduce your hours or want to work in a way that fits around your life, this role offers the structure of a rota with the variety and purpose that comes from supporting people when they need it most. Please note, internally, this job is known as Retirement Housing Assistant About You You’ll be someone who takes pride in your work, enjoys a mix of practical tasks and people-focused support, and has a calm, helpful approach. You’ll have experience in working in housing, care, cleaning or in community-based roles. You’ll recognise the need to have a blend approach and will be able to adapt accordingly to the needs at that time. You’ll have confidence in working independently while knowing when to escalate concerns.
