We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work full-time, Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, to provide crucial support for a pupil who relies on ASL for communication. This is a unique chance to directly impact a young adult's education, fostering their learning and helping them thrive in an inclusive college setting in Hemel Hempstead .
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the pupil in the classroom using American Sign Language, ensuring they have full access to lessons, instructions, and discussions.
* Facilitate communication between the pupil, teachers, and peers, bridging gaps where necessary through ASL interpretation.
* Assist the pupil with understanding and completing coursework, helping them to engage with post-16 educational content.
* Work collaboratively with the teaching staff to differentiate materials and adapt resources to suit the pupil's individual needs.
* Support the development of the pupil's independence and self-confidence, both academically and socially.
* Monitor the pupil's progress and provide regular feedback to the teaching staff and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO).
