Assistant Accountant - About The Role In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the financial function by managing transactional processes and providing assistance with management accounting tasks. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and contributing to the overall financial health of the company. Support the operations team with credit control, cash flow management, and debtor reporting. Assist with customer invoicing, follow-ups, and account reconciliations. Process card payments and direct debits. Reconcile bank statement entries across multiple bank accounts, including foreign currencies. Maintain the integrity of the cashflow report, ensuring receipts and payments are correctly recorded. Ensure full reconciliations are completed monthly for core Balance Sheet codes. Ensure all entities are fully reconciled on a weekly/monthly basis and AP/AR invoices are raised and posted on both sides. Assist in preparing monthly payroll for submission to the payroll bureau. Review and submit VAT returns on time. Calculate and submit monthly CIS returns. Assist in preparing documentation and records for internal and external audits. The successful Assistant Accountant will have: Experience in accounting, specifically transactional accounting. Proficiency in accounting software and Excel. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Relevant qualifications in AAT, CIMA, or ACCA, or working towards them.
