We seek an enthusiastic healthcare professional with experience of the coordination of large-scale NHS clinical research projects who wishes to join a multidisciplinary team to assist with the upscaling of study recruitment of the Generation Study at UHBW. The post holder will work closely with other multidisciplinary team members to ensure efficient communication of study information to potential participants, coordination of consent meetings between participants and public facing team members and recording of outcomes of enrolment process.
Generation study operational team members: The Generation Study (newborn genome screening) is an NHS flagship research programme that launched in pilot phase at UHBW in March 2024. We now seeking to significantly increase study recruitment by making a series of new appointments to join an experienced existing study team based at St Michaels Hospital.
There is funding available and sufficient flexibility within the team for up to three appointments that will be a mixture of Clinical Research Practitioner and Study Coordinator roles suitable for a mixture of band 5 and 6 appointees. The post holders are anticipated to be a mixture of full time and less than full time, according to the preferences of the successful candidates and the ongoing priorities of the wider study team.

Operational Study coordination
1. Support delivery of key elements of the pre-analysis part of the Study, i.e. provision and dissemination of patient-facing informational material; ii. coordination of face-to-face and remote patient consenting; iii. Coordination (but not performance) of cord or heel prick blood sample collection where necessary, and local storage; iv. coordination of courier transport of sample batches to the genomics laboratory.
2. Support performance monitoring of patient approach, consent and sample collection/transport metrics and generation of activity reports to the Study leadership team and stakeholders
