JOB DESCRIPTION:
* Our client is seeking an experienced Technical & Applications Engineer (HVACR) with a strong background in HVACR to join their growing technical support team.
* This role will be crucial in providing expert advice on product selection, installation, and operation, supporting both customers and internal teams.
KEY RESULTS/ACCOUNTABILITIES EXPECTED FROM THE ROLE:
* Provide technical support to customers and internal teams regarding HVACR product selection, installation, and operation.
* Conduct heat load calculations for cold rooms, cellar cooling, air conditioning, and special applications.
* Specify and select equipment for refrigeration systems, including condensing units, coolers, and expansion devices.
* Design air conditioning systems, including VRF, using specialist software.
* Offer technical solutions for bespoke customer inquiries.
* Assist in selecting spare parts for air conditioning units, condensing units, coolers, and line components.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
* Guide customers on programming controllers for refrigeration, heating, humidification, and process control.
* Manage warranty claims, liaising with suppliers and the quality department.
* Provide internal training for Hawco employees on product applications, installation, safety, and regulations.
* Maintain up-to-date technical product knowledge through supplier training and research.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS:
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or a related field.
* Previous experience as a Service or Installation Engineer in refrigeration, air conditioning, or both.
* In-depth knowledge of HVACR systems, components, and fault diagnosis.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to provide technical advice professionally via phone and email.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to quickly absorb and apply knowledge of new products and technologies.
* Office-based role with occasional travel for customer visits, supplier meetings, trade shows, and training sessions.
