About Inherently Human Inherently
Human works in the intersection between business and human rights. We support small and large businesses across a range of sectors in the UK and Europe to understand the gaps in their approaches to identifying and managing human rights issues in their own operations and supply chains. We partner with our clients to develop their approach to human rights and support implementation through training and coaching. We take a bespoke and pragmatic approach according to an organisation’s capacity and ambition and the supply base they are working with. All of our team work part-time, from two to four days a week. We offer flexible working days and hours for the right candidates, and we trust our team to develop a schedule that works for them and us. This role will be remote, with the opportunity for travel to London for team working days on a quarterly basis.
About you: as our Marketing and Communications Manager, you will join a small, agile and flexible team dedicated to making human rights matter. The role’s primary purpose is to oversee our marketing and communication to new and existing clients. By doing so, you will expand our brand’s recognition and communicate the impact of our work with clients and its potential to positively impact workers, farmers and communities.
Your responsibilities will include planning, coordinating, and implementing our marketing and communications activities, nurturing existing contacts and networks, and in time potentially managing our client sales funnel (CRM). Ensuring our brand maintains a strong reputation and effectively reaches key audiences is key. You will be a self-starter, who can motivate yourself, and drive your own agenda and workplan.
Key duties:
• Working alongside our team of four to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to effectively convey our mission, values and impact to a diverse range of stakeholders
• Coordinate the planning, creation and distribution of engaging content across various channels, predominantly LinkedIn and our website to raise awareness of our impact on clients
• Manage our messaging and storytelling efforts to align with our goals of growing our credibility and client base and developing relationships with key organisations, for example through blogs, reports, and helping us set up webinars.
• Monitor and analyse communication and marketing metrics such as reach, engagement and conversion rates, to assess effectiveness and inform strategic decision-making, adjusting strategies and tactics as needed
• Look outside and bring fresh ideas to us: stay informed about industry trends, best practices and emerging techniques in communication and marketing and collaborate with the team to apply insights to continuously improve our strategies and tactics. Qualifications and Experience:
• The ideal candidate will have done a similar role previously – qualifications are less important to us than lived experience
• Proven experience of developing and executing marketing and communication strategies
• Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to craft compelling reports and narratives that resonate with target audiences
• Proficiency in using communication and marketing tools and platforms including LinkedIn, Canva or similar
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work flexibly in a small, remote team; you will need to be a self-starter who is also happy working independently
• Demonstrate good organisational skills, patience, positivity and a solution-focused approach
• Passion for the topic of human rights is a benefit, but we are happy to help build that passion!
The successful candidate will need to register with HMRC for self-employment and pay their own tax and National Insurance contributions associated with this role.
