Finance Manager
Permanent or Fixed Term Contract: 6 Months
Location: Ludlow
Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience.
Job Summary:
The Finance Manager will play a key role in supporting the financial health of the company, managing and delivering the financial function such as bookkeeping, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Prepare monthly management accounts and detailed analysis, with particular focus on margin, to understand results and trends.
2. Review the balance sheet reconciliations and liaise with our external audit partners.
3. Manage sales ledger reconciliations across the business - Ecommerce, Retail, and Trade.
4. Produce business reporting to feed into the quarterly reviews.
5. Manage the accounts receivable and accounts payable processes and functions.
6. Lead on financial analysis to support the business in decision making, for example, preparing monthly sales reports.
7. Support and monitor performance against budget and forecast variances with the CEO.
8. Manage the finance team, providing coaching, mentoring, and addressing any development needs as required.
9. Manage monthly credit card reconciliations and company expenses.
10. Ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements are met, including VAT returns.
11. Support cash flow forecasting as required, providing information in relation to payments and receipts.
12. Serve as financial liaison to all showrooms, suppliers, and customers.
13. Work with the CEO and management team to optimise resource allocation and cost management, meeting regularly with stakeholders to discuss.
14. Ensure the finance team raises and sends invoices through the accounting software.
15. Ensure credit control is maintained within guidelines.
16. Manage deferment account reconciliation.
17. Maintain strong relationships with appointed Auditors.
18. Sign off on monthly payroll, pension, and HMRC submissions.
19. Ensure internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets.
20. Support the drive for continuous improvement, working to ensure processes are efficient and controls are effective and are appropriately implemented and complied with.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent analytical degree required.
2. CIMA/ACA/AAT - qualified.
3. High level accounting experience within a retail/ecommerce background essential.
4. International experience of import and export.
5. Advanced Excel Skills, and high level of systems proficiency required.
6. Strong knowledge and proven experience of financial and general accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
7. Experience of working in a high-growth SME environment.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Management experience of leading a highly motivated performing team from a retail industry.
11. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
