This role is based at our Newton Aycliffe site and involves working as a member of a small team on our plant making concrete blocks.
The ideal candidate will be willing and able to work as part of a small team, have good communication skills and a keen work ethic and likely have experience of a manufacturing or production factory environment.
A current FLT license would be beneficial.
A degree of physical activity is intrinsic within this role, including manual handling of precast concrete building blocks, negotiating steps/ladders/vertical ladders and above ground open mesh floor walkways, the use of certain hand tools and some minor maintenance tasks. There is also a requirement to wear items of personal protective equipment, (PPE), including, for certain tasks, respiratory protective equipment.
Main duties include but are not limited to overseeing the smooth efficient operation of a section of the production plant, including plant set ups, observation tests and assessments of product to ensure quality control compliance, minor maintenance of plant and equipment, clean of down of equipment at the end of production, health and safety compliance.
There will be small amounts of paperwork involved including quality control forms, records of production etc. so we require reasonable levels of legible handwriting and numeracy.
Working 40 hours per week with a requirement, when necessary to work up to 48 hours per week. This will be on a 2 shift system, alternating each week from 06.00am to 14.00pm, and 14.00pm to 22.00pm rotating and covering for holidays and sickness as and when required.
Saturday morning working will also be required every other week when required.
