This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Mental Health/Learning Disability Nurse, Social worker, or Speech and Language Therapist to develop their skills within a well-established adult Neurodiversity service.
The Humber Adult Autism Diagnostic Service (HAADS) currently offers high-quality autism assessments to adults aged 18 years and over who are registered with a Hull or East Riding of Yorkshire GP. Assessments are offered within a Multi-disciplinary team format and are conducted both online and in person at one of our clinics based across the Humber region.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have strong clinical reasoning skills, excellent communication skills, and some experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and professions. The ability to produce written work, including reports to a high standard, is essential.
The successful candidate will demonstrate specialist clinical skills in working with neurodivergent people, in particular autistic people. Prior experience of contributing to autism diagnostic assessments is preferred; however, training and CPD opportunities will be provided as required.
In addition to supporting autism diagnostic assessments, the role will also include triaging autism referrals, providing support/advice to patients, their families/carers, and professionals involved in their care and service development.
